Local IAEI Yosemite Division Benefits

A Place to Communicate with each other
Local meetings are held monthly, on the last Thursday of the month, with all members
and non members welcome. During the meeting inspectors, electrical contractors,
electricians and industry members get together to discuss current issues that they are
experiencing in electrical construction, electrical safety, electrical project management,
review jurisdictional interpretation of code articles/sections and work together to
improve relations between the code officials and the construction industry.

Ask Questions About Code and its Application, Get information
At the monthly meetings, Inspectors have an opportunity to comment on situations that
they are seeing every day; electrical contractors and electricians are able to ask for
interpretation of the code; and Electrical manufacturers, suppliers and testing
companies are able to advise the attendees in the latest conditions and recalls that
effect the industry as a whole.

Local Training at Monthly Meeting
At the monthly meeting a guest speaker will present a technical subject of interest to
the members and attendees. No where else does the Inspector or the Electrical
Contractor have a chance to listen to such a diverse group of professionals on
subjects that apply to the electrical industry, are informative, timely, of value to present
day work applications, and effect the bottom line. Because the subjects are technical,
continuing education units are presented by IAEI Yosemite Division. The number of
units earned are 0.1 CEU per 1 Training Hour of the presentation. These CEUs are
accepted by most organizations. Local Training can be found on Training Page.

Locally Sponsored Seminars
Every two months the Yosemite Division offers a technical seminars on subjects that
are important to the electrical industry. These training events are usually 4 to 8 hours
long and can be held on week days or a Saturday, depending upon the membership
and the Education Committees approval and the depth of the subject presented. Quite
a few of these seminars are free to members and at a reasonable cost to non
members. These seminars are taught by Division Approved instructors and IAEI
National Continuing Education units are earned by the attendees. The number of
training CEUs earned are 0.1 CEU per 1 Hour of presentation. See the Training Page
on this Website for details of future local seminars. Seminars are listed on Training
Page.
